Following the tradition started last year, we have also prepared a half-day lecture block for foreign university students from the Netherlands on April 19, 2024. The lectures took place in the wonderful historic Charvát Hall, the richly stucco-decorated upper part of the former chapel of St. František Xaversky. The meeting was opened by Dr. Janů by welcoming guests and speakers. Subsequently, Prof. Michálek, deputy for science, research and education, who talked about our hospital as a scientific and research institution, introduced the participants to a number of achievements and plans in this area. Mr. Headmaster III. internal clinics, prof. Kršek gave a presentation to the participants regarding the scientific focus of his clinic, pointed out the excellence of the workplace and showed pharmacological intervention in the treatment of internal diseases using the example of Cushing's m. Subsequently Dr. Janů screened a short commented film about the history and present of VFN, the basic characteristics and definition of the activity and its broad scope in the field of treatment, science, research and teaching.
In the next block, the activities performed by pharmacists in VFN outside the hospital pharmacy were presented. Dr. Pilková dedicated her contribution to the work of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy, where pharmacists work in the field of pharmacotherapy control, advisory services and individual consultations for outpatients.
The last part directly related to the work of the hospital pharmacy was started by Dr. Janů with a comprehensive audiovisual introduction to the complex of professional and scientific activities provided by the pharmacy and briefly presented its individual specialized workplaces. Dr. Davidová spoke in detail about pharmacy care for our patients in the public parts of the pharmacy, highlighted our consultation activities. Dr. Golianová, presented the concrete possibility of preparing a number of sterile medicinal forms. In conclusion Dr. Davidová presented a contribution that mapped the possibilities of pharmacotherapeutic support for rare diseases and clinical evaluations. On behalf of Mgr. Halada ended the meeting with an introduction to our cytostatics preparation department.
The meeting was very positively evaluated by our future colleagues, it was also a unique opportunity for the hospital pharmacy to present our work and results.
