On Thursday, June 18, 2020, the traditional event of the Czech Pharmacy Chamber will take place on Pharmacy Day. This year will be marked by pharmacists and pharmacies, which are among the most accessible medical facilities.

Pharmacies perform many functions for the company. Their importance and irreplaceability were emphasized by the coronavirus pandemic, as they remained the only one of the outpatient healthcare sector almost without exception, thus ensuring maximum access to care for all their patients.

One of the main tasks of pharmacists in the provision of pharmacy care is the dispensing of medicinal products on and without prescription, for the professionally proper and safe fulfillment of which is considered necessary for the pharmacist's personal contact with the patient. However, there are a number of other activities and services that pharmacies provide to patients and society: preparation of IPLP, counseling and consultation, dispensing of medical devices, dilution of antibiotic syrups, communication with prescribers, supply of other medical facilities, control and proper storage of medicines, collection of unusable drugs and many others.
The theme of this year's Pharmacy Day is chosen based on current developments and experience from the previous few months. The aim is to emphasize the importance of personal contact and the local availability of the pharmacy for patients.
