Most uncomplicated symptoms can be treated with self-medication, so the home first aid kit should not lack basic medicines for lowering the temperature, for headaches, medicines for dry and wet coughs, nasal drops and lozenges, or throat pain spray. We also recommend medications for stomach problems and activated charcoal.
In the Self-medication section, you can study in detail how to treat the above-mentioned symptoms.
Due to the approaching end of the year, the issue of excessive alcohol consumption is current. Many symptoms (headache, feeling tired) are due to dehydration caused by ethanol. Adequate fluid intake (water) is an important prevention. To minimize the consequences, it is also advisable to fill the stomach, preferably with something fat.
Preparations containing paracetamol are completely unsuitable if pain is present. Serious liver damage can occur. Paracetamol should not be taken before or after drinking alcohol.
The best way to get rid of headaches after drinking alcohol is to replenish fluids and get enough sleep.
Drugs for which alcohol consumption is contraindicated include, for example, blood thinners, some selected medicines for pressure, sedatives, etc.
