Watch out for headaches

The most common causes include:

  • bad posture (as a result of increased tension of the muscles on the head),
  • fatigue, stress and lack of sleep (exacerbated by alcohol consumption and smoking),
  • dehydration (lack of fluids or excessive consumption of coffee, energy drinks, alcohol, etc.),
  • food allergy (for example, artificial sweeteners, preservatives or flavor enhancers),
  • hormonal fluctuations (menopause, menstruation),
  • infectious disease (in case of upper respiratory tract involvement),
  • symptom of more serious damage (worsening during exertion or bending forward, accompanied by - vomiting, speech or vision disorders, unusual behavior, convulsions, etc.).

Other causes:

  • inflammation of the nerves, teeth, mouth, ears, etc.,
  • hypoglycemia,
  • anemia,
  • poisoning by gases or volatile substances, etc.

Preventive measures:

  • enough sleep
  • proper drinking regime,
  • regular movement
  • balanced diet,
  • relaxation (meditation, exercise, rest),
  • frequent ventilation,
  • massages,
  • swimming etc.

If the pain appears suddenly and has an unusual course, intensity, symptoms or significantly limits you in carrying out normal activities, do not be afraid to consult a doctor.

Also, keep in mind that long-term use of analgesics can also cause headaches and become habit forming. You can consult a pharmacy about choosing a suitable product.
