The management of waste from medical facilities is a very specific area with many pitfalls in its collection, transport and disposal.
In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to contaminated waste, which is generated by the use of injectable forms of medicinal products and which is associated with a potential risk of injury and infection (syringes with needles, lancets, etc.).
These wastes must be collected separately in closable impermeable containers or containers. Hand over the filled containers at the prescriber's office.
The currently valid VFN methodological instruction for handling waste from health care is fully in accordance with the applicable legislation and was approved by HS Prague 2 on 31.1.2023 in accordance with the new requirements of Act No. 541/2020 Coll., on waste.
